Behavior Interventionist

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferable)
  • Have Live Scan and TB clearance
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification (child and adult) within 90 days of hire
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Reliable and consistent means of transportation
  • Able to sit on the ground, small chairs, bend and move at the waist, lift and manipulate small objects
  • Successful completion of competency training and skills evaluation
  • Knowledge of basic computer operations (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel)
  • Ability to work part-time or full-time
  • Provide services to San Gabriel, Temple City, Monterey Park, Lincoln Heights, East LA, Montebello,
    Commerce, Pico Rivera, Whittier, and Eagle Rock
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 behavior instruction to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Provide parent training on behavior principles and intervention strategies
  • Complete accurate data collection
  • Collect and summarize data on target behaviors
  • Implement treatment plan
  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with team members and family
  • Assist with program development, when needed
  • Model behavior interventions, as necessary
  • Participate in mandatory team meetings
  • Communicate effectively with clients, caregivers and colleagues
