Before we kick off our behavior services journey, we take a crucial first step: the assessment. This is where we dive in to understand what makes your child unique and how we can best support them. Through friendly chats, easy questionnaires, and some observation time, we get a clear picture of what might be influencing certain behaviors and where your child's strengths lie.
This valuable info isn't just for us ‒ it's a roadmap for designing tailored treatments and offering you the support you need as a parent.
Our Intensive Behavioral Intervention (IBI) program utilizes Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques, including discrete trial training, functional communication training, incidental teaching, and the picture exchange communication system, to provide personalized instruction for individuals with autism and related disabilities, focusing on enhancing expressive, receptive, socialization, daily living, and motor skills.
Services are provided in the home and, when applicable, in the community (e.g., social skills, correct use of money, asking for instruction when lost, etc.).
Total service hours are dependent on needs, diagnosis, and insurance authorization.
In our Behavior Management (BM) program, we empower caregivers through personalized behavior consultation services, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to confidently utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques, aiming for them to become effective advocates and interventionists for their children's growth and development.
Session may be offered in the home or community, when necessary. Total service hours are dependent on needs, diagnosis, and insurance authorization.
If your child or family member is 21 or under and covered by healthcare insurance in California, your insurance provider should offer coverage for treatments related to conditions like autism.
Benefits and coverage can vary. Even if your health plan covers autism treatment, it's essential to understand your specific coverage. Please chat with your insurance provider before beginning treatment to understand how much coverage is provided by your health plan.
Depending on factors like age, diagnosis, location, or insurance type, your child's care might also be accessible through your local regional center. These centers, linked with the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS), can be a valuable resource for coordinating access to state-funded behavioral treatment services.
Here is the link to our most commonly utilized regional center: Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center (https://www.elarc.org/).
Please feel free to contact us or your local regional center for more information on how to receive behavior services!
